All travel programs begin at 7:00 P.M. (unless noted otherwise)

Tuesday, May 8th - Polar Bears of Churchill, Canada - Join me as I travel with Natural Habitat Adventures to Churchill, Manitoba, the polar bear capital of the world.  We will get to see polar bears, arctic fox, snowy owls and more from the decks of the Polar Rover and Tundra Lodge, which is a mobile hotel that is set near the area of highest polar bear density at the beginning of the season.  We will watch the polar bears as they await the ice to form on Hudson's Bay so they can venture out on the ice for the winter to hunt seals.

Tuesday, May 15th - The Life & Times of African Wildlife - A critical part of African wildlife conservation is the reintroduction of big game onto former ranches that have been converted into wildlife preserves.  Join Cyndra Dietz for a slide show and talk on the detailed biology of the wildlife of Southern Africa, including some of Africa's most famous species.  Cyndra spent the summer of 2006 doing radio-collar tracking of large mammals on one of these reserves.  She will also take us on a tour of Swaziland, the Drakensberg Mountains and Kruger National Park.

Tuesday, May 22nd - How to Pack Light for Care-Free Travel! - The most important advice anyone can give you about packing is to travel light!  Airlines have strict rules on the amount and size of both carry-on and checked luggage.  Learn the art of packing light and enjoy your trip more!  Less luggage means less hassles for you.  Learn everything you need to know about packing light for your next trip.  How to pack, what to pack, and protecting what you pack will be covered in this fun and informative clinic.  Prizes, discounts & tips will make it worth your time.

Tuesday, May 29th - Nicaragua Volcanoes - Before my first trip to Nicaragua, the country's profile in the media was becoming more prominent.  I read about pristine and unspoiled natural spaces and volcanic peaks both dormant and active.  But there was another natural resource I found during the trip that went mostly unmentioned in the materials I read: a population of friendly, peaceful, and self-assured people.  I crossed the country and did a great deal of hiking both in the central mountains and along the string of volcanoes known as the Cordillera de Maribios.  When I see you at the end of May, I will have recently returned from my third trip to Nica.  Last year I climbed the active beast San Cristóbal, tallest volcano in the country, and the remote and dormant Cosigüina.  This year I've got the Telica complex in my sights and with luck also Momotombo: that would make eight summits of volcanic peaks in the Maribios chain.  I would love to show you pictures of hikes, cities, and people and talk about Nicaragua.  It is a wonderful country and, yes, a safe place to have a bit of adventure.

Tuesday, June 5th - Retire & Live in Panama! - As the world becomes more connected, international property investment has grown in popularity.  Emerging markets provide opportunities for investors to experience rapid growth.  Beautiful up-and-coming areas newly opened to foreign ownership allow visitors to own a small piece of their vacation paradise.  Generous health care plans for ex-pats provide seniors with new alternatives for their retirement years.  Tonight's show will teach you the questions to ask in order to determine if international investment is right for you.  Get tips and insights on how to avoid common pitfalls and scams, as well as outline the benefits of international property ownership in Panama.

Tuesday, June 12th - The World By Road - presented by the Steves - For two years and 147 days, this pair journeyed through 69 countries, crossed six continents and covered more than 70,000 miles.  As part of their expedition, the Steves became involved in a variety of community projects between camping with nomads in remote Western Mongolia and negotiating for safe passage with rebels in the Congo, they encountered more of their fair share of adventure.  The expedition represented an unparalleled educational experience exposing the two to a variety of cultures and face to face interactions with diverse people throughout the world.  Join Steve and Steve as they share lessons they learned on the road in an effort to inspire people to break out of their comfort zones and dare to think the unthinkable.  This was the National Geographic Magazine 2009 Adventures of the Year!

Tuesday, June 19th - Ghana - Combining travel with volunteering is often referred to as "travel with a purpose".  Kathleen Bennett's two month sojourn in Ghana, West Africa last spring merged teaching in a rural school with exploring Ghana's diverse attractions.  Traveling independently, Kathleen's adventures included scouting elephants in Mole National Park near Tamale (far north),learning about Ashanti culture in Kumasi, touring slave forts near Cape Coast, and chilling out in the African music scene of Kokrobite Beach.  Let's share ideas about how to find volunteer opps worldwide!

Tuesday, June 26th - Packing Light Clinic - Are you concerned about the way you pack?  Discover time and money-saving tips that can help you zoom through security checks and avoid airlines' fees.  If you are worried about protecting your identity and credit card information, learn about RFID and what you can do to protect yourself.  Our in-house travel and packing light experts will give you the information to enjoy your vacations more and worry less about your overstuffed baggage.  Travel right and pack light!  Prizes and specials tonight only!
