December 8th – China Less Travelled: Presented by Richard Lion

Most China tours concentrate on the big four: Beijing, Xian (for the terracotta warriors), Shanghai and the Yangtze River's “Three Gorges” cruise. Yet, there are a host of other sights, many of them under UNESCO World Heritage protection, that are off this beaten path. These include a nearly intact Ming Era city, a Buddha as tall as a mountain, a hanging monastery, a panda sanctuary, a 2,500-year old city sometimes called “The Venice of the East” to name few. No tour encompassed these; so independent (and budget) travel was necessary – a formidable undertaking if you cannot speak or read the language. Richard will recount how this adventure played out and take you to these less seen places.

December 15th- Customer Appreciation Day! Please join us for home-made cookies and hot apple cider/ Free Gift Wrap and lots of fun all day long

The famous plaza where the tree is located each year was opened in 1933 and is a complex consisting of 19 buildings and was commissioned by a famous American philanthropist and financer from a well-known wealthy family.

Last Month’s Answer & Winner: Last month we had a lot of response, and many of you answered correctly! The location was the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Congratulations to Carmen M. for winning the Changes in Latitude Gift Certificate!
