HAPPY HOLIDAYS From Us To YOU!!
We are all truly blessed to be able to explore and discover the wonderful world out there. Though there are
many "wonders of the world", I feel the most rewarding aspect of travel is meeting new people all over the world and
learning about them and their ways of life. I know all our customers enjoy this passion for travel and I thank
you for allowing us to help you get started on your trips. We are truly honored to meet you and to contribute
and share in your travel dreams. May all your travels be rewarding and inspirational in the coming year!
Many Thanks and Best Wishes!

Airport Security Screening Update
Starting December 22nd, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will again allow passengers to carry small
(4 inches or less) scissors and screwdrivers aboard planes. The TSA wants its agents to concentrate on more
serious threats and not spend their time on small items. Many people, including most flight attendants, disagree
with the new ruling and think it is a step backwards in keeping our skies safe. They believe passengers have
learned that these items are not allowed and so there’s no inconvenience maintaining the former regulation. While
the debate goes on, our suggestion is to keep packing the questionable items in your checked luggage, if you want to
bring them along on a trip. You could encounter a TSA agent who is not quite up on the latest regulations and
arguing would only slow down the security line for you and others.

Internet Travel Resources
With the increased number of passengers flying around the holidays in fewer available airline seats, there is an increased
chance of getting bumped from your flight. Bumptracker
(www.bumptracker.com)
is a new website that helps prepare you for that possibility. It gives you an idea of what to expect if you get
bumped from your flight. Website visitors submit their experiences of getting bumped and the statistics are
available, by airline, for viewing. This allows you to see what airlines are compensating flyers that get bumped,
so you have an idea of how much you can expect or ask for as reasonable compensation. There are also tips and tricks
about getting bumped, such as: If you are not in a hurry and hoping to get bumped to collect the potential compensation,
travel with carry-on bags only so you won’t have to worry about checked luggage leaving without you.

Just For Fun
The Australian Tourist Board regularly receives Questions from tourists prior to their trips and here are some of their
light-hearted answers:
-- Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street?
A: Depends how much you’ve been drinking.
-- Q: Can you send us a schedule for the Vienna Boys’ Choir?
A: A-u-s-t-r-i-a is a quaint little country bordering Germany. Austra-l-i-a is that big island in the middle
of the Pacific... Oh forget it. Sure the choir plays every Tuesday night in Kings Cross.
-- Q: Are there supermarkets in Sydney and is milk available year round?
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of vegan hunter gatherers. Milk is illegal.
-- Q: I want to walk from Perth to Sydney – can I follow the railroad tracks?
A: Sure, it is only a short walk but sometimes gets hot, so bring lots of water.
-- Q: Can I bring cutlery into Australia with me?
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.
-- Q: I was there on a short vacation 5 years ago and I want to contact the girl I dated. Can you help?
A: Yes, but you will still have to pay her by the hour.
-- Q: Can you provide information about the hippo racing in Australia?
A: A-fri-ca is the big continent just south of Europe, which… Oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing takes
place every Tuesday night in Kings Cross, just after the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
