June 2016 Newsletter
Summer is upon us, and we hear a lot of you have exciting trips coming up to all ends of the world! This month would be the perfect time to drop in on one of our packing light clinics, as our last one of the summer is on Tuesday, June 14th, at 7:00pm. Don't miss out on your chance to learn how to make your trip as light as possible, as with less luggage comes less stress. From packable fabrics, the perfect suitcase for each type of trip, and different packing methods, there are a lot of tips and tricks to be learned at our fun, informational clinic. Whether you’ll be traveling for a week or several months, you can learn how to pack everything you need in one convenient and organized suitcase.
This month is also a time to celebrate the fathers among us. Father's Day 2016 is to fall on June 19th, so if you know a father that loves to travel in his spare time, come find the perfect gift. It could be a handy universal adapter, the perfect suitcase, a book on an upcoming, well deserved vacation, versatile clothing, or a gift certificate, for those who are harder to shop for.
As a reminder, we do not have any travel shows scheduled for July or August, as this is a time of traveling for everyone. However, we do have some great shows scheduled for the fall, so keep checking back with us, either in our store or through our websites, for future updates.
Product of the Month - Vapur Water Bottles
Vapur water bottles, deemed “the most flexible, reusable water bottles on the planet,” are a great way to save packing space. A large, bulky, traditional water bottle takes up too much space in your luggage or carry-on, but buying disposal water bottles everywhere you go isn't the best idea for the environment. Vapur water bottles answer both these problems. They pack flat when empty, and stand upright when full, and can be used over and over again. Perfect for any type of travel. Stop in today and grab one for yourself or others, for your next trip out of the city, or even just to the gym!
Packing Tip of the Month
Stay healthy in transit! Airports and airplanes can be crowded, dirty places to move through. It can be very easy to get sick while traveling. And who wants to be sick by the time they get to where they're going? Here are a few tips to staying healthy while flying.
· Bring a bottle of hand sanitizer. Pick a bottle that can only hold three ounces or less, so it is TSA-compliant and you can take it through security and have it on the plane with you.
· Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or anywhere on your face as much as possible. This is one of the easiest ways to introduce a virus into your system.
· Stay hydrated. Your nose and throat need to remain moist to effectively flush bacteria and viruses out. At the elevation commercial airlines fly, you're likely to become dehydrated. Make sure you get some water every time the drinks cart goes by, or pack a water bottle in your carry on like the Vapur ones above! For best results, start hydrating before you even leave for the airport.
· Avoid touching problem areas – hand rails along escalators, the surface of check-in counters, or your tray table. Think about all the other hands that have been on them today! If you must come into contact with surfaces such as these, utilize your sanitizer!
