Join us for a celebration of Nepalese culture! The Himalayan Region has acquired an exotic reputation and allure with its dramatic wealth of spectacular geography and fascinating culture. While trekking is one of the main reasons people go to experience the mountains, a trip to this area can be much more. Tonight we'll learn about the unique, diverse cultures of Nepal, and tips for trekking in the Everest Region. Join Karma Sherpa as he shares his journey in Nepal.
Tuesday, June 14th (7:00pm) - Packing Light: Carry-On Packing for Care Free Travel
The most important advice anyone can give you about packing is to travel light! So join us in this fun and informative clinic to learn how to pack light, go carry-on, and avoid the extra fees that the airlines love to charge. Gail and Russell Dohrmann take you on a photographic journey through the kingdom of Morocco, photographing in ancient cities, its seacosts, and desert regions. The Dohrmann's are freelance photographers who specialize in travel, artistic and creative photography. They are the photographers for the best selling book Best Boulder Region Hiking Trails and more. Join them this evening as they share their journey to Morocco.
Tuesday, June 28th (7:00pm) - Mountains, Monasteries & Monsoon: A Drive In Old Tibet
A Boulder-Lhasa Sister City group led by CU Asian Art Professor Ronald Bernier visited parts of old Tibet in the summer of 1988. The delegation of four people included Marilyn and Michael Wertheimer. A bridge collapsed by monsoon rains made much of the country inaccessible. We were lucky to have one of Tibet's most knowledgeable guides, his scholarly reputation made it possible to visit many Tibetan treasures off limits to most tourists. Tsedior drove us on almost impossible roads to see spectacular mountains, glaciers and pristine lakes at elevations up to 17,000 feet. We crossed the raging Yarlong Tsangpo river in a small outbound motorboat (with a Chinese Spy) to witness the installation of a monastery's new abbot, and visited other historic monasteries not destroyed by the Chinese as well as the largest one, Ganden. Join us on this unusual adventure!

JUST FOR LAUGHS: Murphy's Laws of Travel for Frequent Flyers
(1) No flight ever leaves on time unless you are running late and need the delay to make the flight.(2) If you are running late for a flight, it will depart from the farthest gate within the terminal.
(3) If you arrive very early for a flight, it inevitably will be delayed.
(4) Flights never leave from gate #1 at any terminal in the world.
(5) If you must work on your flight, you will experience turbulence as soon as you touch pen to paper.
(6) If you are assigned a middle seat, you can determine who has the seats on the aisle and window
while you are still in the boarding area, by looking for the two largest passengers.
(7) Only passengers seated in window seats ever have to get up and go to the lavatory.
