EAGLE CREEK RECOGNIZES CINDY SONDERUP
OF CHANGES IN LATITUDE AS A LEADER IN DEVELOPMENT OF THE
TRAVEL GEAR CONCEPT "RETAIL ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR"

SAN MARCOS, CA - Eagle Creek Adventure Travel Gear, leading manufacturer of Adventure Travel Gear, honors Cindy Sonderup, owner of Changes In Latitude as their "Retail Entrepreneur of the Year".

A brief award ceremony will be held at the Eagle Creek booth during the annual Outdoor Retailer Trade Show on Saturday, January 30th at 11:45am.  Media and show attendees are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The annual award recognizes entrepreneurs for vision, imagination, market intuition, customer satisfaction, and the confidence to take risks in expanding the Adventure Travel market.

Seven years ago Sonderup opened Changes In Latitude in Boulder, Colorado, but her start in the specialty outdoor business was as a co-founder and owner of the Moose's Tooth in Montana.  In 1989, Sonderup and her husband sold their store and moved to Alaska.  After a few years in Fairbanks, they sold everything they owned to travel around the world.  A year and a half of travel provided Sonderup with the inspiration to create a specialty store focused on the Adventure Travel Concept.

"Cindy has become a pioneer in retailing the Adventure Travel Concept." says Eagle Creek Senior V.P. Ricky Schlesinger, "And stands out for her creativity and insight into the category."

"Cindy is probably the only retailer in the country focusing all of her energy and resources toward adventure travel." says Rick Saez, Director of Sales for Eagle Creek.  "Everything she sells, all her trips and weekly slide shows are somehow connected to adventure travel."

Eagle Creek, pioneer of the Adventure Travel Gear Concept, continues to drive this expanding industry with innovative products, marketing and the largest selection of gear for the outdoor adventurist.
